Week 8 was all about about two competitors: Jay and Nathan.
No, seriously. Every other competitor may as well have been on another bye week.
Read on for more.
The Picks
The Analysis
Fighting for Their Lives: This week, Jay and Nathan were the only brave souls to predict an Eagles victory over the Bengals, and they were handsomely rewarded by the algorithm. Jay leaped over the mediocrity hurdle that’s been tripping up Buhduh, Jacob, Sarah, and Hanan all season, soaring 26 percentage points into second place. Meanwhile, Nathan finally broke free from the clutches of Marsha and Amir, landing in a precarious 8th place no-man’s-land. They can both sleep easy tonight knowing that if the Eagles had lost, they'd have both been eliminated. Instead, their 2024 hopes and dreams are still alive.
Takes Two to Tango: As for the rest of the competitors? Well, it was a snooze-fest. There was basically zero movement, except for a slight dip from Pop and Emer. This week was all about Jay and Nathan’s survival, leaving the rest of the field in a delightful standstill. Explain that one, atheists.
A legendary return: Ladies and gentlemen, if you weren't entertained enough by this week's results, then look no further. The FEP has an exciting, unexpected, and downright glorious announcement: Jemer is BACK! After an epic run last year, everyone's favorite superteam has returned to the FEP!!!
But Wait…: Hold on a second…Jemer looks a bit different this year. In a controversial and downright dramatic turn of events, Jen has not been invited back to the team. Instead, Jay has taken her place! That’s right - Jay and Emer are now FEP soul sisters, sharing picks, triumphs, and potential heartbreak for the rest of the season. How can you not be romantic about the FEP?
That’s all for this week’s analysis, delivered with love to the angry mob outside my door clamoring for the newsletter. Next week is critical for just a few competitors. Marsha, Nathan, and Pop are the only ones daring enough to pick an Eagles loss to Jacksonville. High stakes and survival are on the table—hope you’re hungry!
