The Analysis

A clean break: Sarah and Hanan reminded us over-and-over this season that they are, in fact, twins. Their DNA might not be identical, but their seasons were damn close. That is, until this week when Hanan bowed out, leaving Sarah as the last surviving Zisling on the leaderboard. After his Cinderella run in 2023, Hanan couldn't squeeze into the glass slipper this year, ending his quest for a repeat championship. His season started strong, holding third place on the weighted leaderboard in Weeks 2-3. But an incorrect pick in Week 4 knocked him toward the back of the pack. His climb back to the top wasn't perfect, but it was certainly admirable. It's time for Hanan to begin his search for a new bookshelf centerpiece.

  • History awaits: With Hanan's elimination, Jacob's reign as the only back-to-back champion stays intact—at least until early 2026.

Made you look: Week 10 reintroduced Buhduh, Jacob, and Sarah to the conversation as they narrowed the gap between themselves and yearlong leaders Pop and Jemer. Two weeks later? All that hype is out the window. Jemer has blown past the competition, sitting at 88.7% on the weighted leaderboard—nearly double Buhduh's second-place percentage. Could this be Jemer's breakthrough week?

Taking a closer look: Both Buhduh and Pop guessed correctly this week but barely budged in their scores (Buhduh even dipped slightly). Turns out, this week's result may have impacted the leaderboard les than the Cowboys @ Eagles game in five weeks. Here's the deal: Buhduh, Pop, Jacob, and Sarah all picked the Eagles to lose that game, which is now considered the least likely upset remaining this season by the ESPN Prediction Algorithm (yes, even less likely than an Eagles loss to the Panthers). Without that shocker happening, Jemer might just be untouchable.

Other storylines:

  • The game within the game: The Eagles play a huge game this week against the Ravens, but it might just be an even bigger game for Jacob. He's the only one to pick an Eagles victory, which could help him reemerge as a mildly relevant competitor. Meanwhile, Sarah, his fellow caboose-rider on the leaderboard train, needs an Eagles loss to stay afloat.

  • Straight across the leaderboard: On the straight leaderboard, it's a dead heat: Buhduh, Jemer, and Pop are all tied for first. Each will win or tie for the championship in 40 of the remaining 64 possible outcomes this season.

As the championship seems more-and-more out-of-reach for the majority of our competitors, I will remind you all: in each of the last two seasons, our first-place competitor by Week 12 did not end up winning it all. In the FEP, chaos is abundant, and chaos never sleeps. Buckle up.
